The Destination 2025 project was a collaborative effort between The BioBusiness Alliance of Minnesota and Deloitte Consulting LLP to develop a 20-year strategic plan and roadmap for Minnesota in the six life science markets in which the state participates: Medical Devices, Biologics and Biopharmaceuticals, Animal Health, Food, Renewable Energy, and Renewable Materials. The process involved over 600 people who work in and with the industry and who are experts in their area of focus.

The papers consist of three different levels of detail. The first level is the white paper. The white papers are by industry and take a look at the global evolution of the industry. The second level is the Minnesota Vision Document. These are also by industry, but focus on the strengths of Minnesota and establish a series of recommendations for Minnesota to consider when growing our local industries, and our partnerships. The third level is the roadmap. The roadmap examines the overlap between the six industries and makes a series of recommendations that Minnesota can pursue to advance its position in the life science industry and beyond.

Roadmap: Recommendations to Grow Minnesota’s Life Science Industry

The roadmap provides high-level recommendations for the Minnesota life science community that take advantage of the synergies between the six markets whenever possible.

Minnesota Vision Documents

The vision documents provide forethought to identify possibilities for Minnesota’s role within each of these industries over the next 20 years. The recommendations build on our existing strengths and assets, and identify investment areas needed to ensure our long term competitiveness in the life sciences.
